Last Halloween

Ok prepare for the cuteness...So Halloween is just around the corner, as you all know, and we've been planning our costumes for this year.  We can't wait! Halloween is one of our favorite holidays!  We love to dress up, go to the local doggie Halloween parade and contest (1st and 2nd place the last 2 years, respectively, thank you, thank you) and on Halloween we love to help pass out candy to all the kiddies.  Stay tuned for some pics of our costume shopping.  For now here are some pics from last year:

Chiquitín, Chiquitín, Everybody Chiquitín!

It's my pleasure to introduce to you all my foster brother, the adorable Chiquitín.  He's a chihuahua like me, about 6 weeks old or so.  Unfortunately he had to leave his birth mom and siblings too early, so we're fostering him for a while until he gets big and strong and finds his forever home.  He is a feisty little cutie, and we all adore him.  As the oldest, of course it's my job to babysit.  Here are some pics of me babysitting and some cute ones of Chiquitín.  Thankfully Iggy took over for me after a while--he's IN LOVE with his little foster brother!  Wherever Chiqui goes his big bro is watching over him--so cute it makes my heart melt!

The only downside is next to him I feel like a huge old hag, lol!

Movie Night

Recently I had a relaxing night in and watched one of my new favorite movies--Bolt! It's a fun movie. That Bolt is so silly and sweet! If only I could meet a sincere guy dog like that in real life--let's not even get started on the kinds of guys I've had to pick from! Huff! That gossip's a matter for a different post. Was at LAX recently too, seeing off my grandmother.  Love going to the airport--such interesting smells!  Especially in the International Terminal, lol!

 

Rainy Day in Venice

Had to run some errands in Venice last week so I took a stroll on the Boardwalk for a little while.  It's been years!  Not too many people out because it was a cold day with a bit of drizzle.

The guy on the right was CUTTING HIS TOENAILS.

New Bed!

We got a new lounge mat called a "SoftTouch Pet Napper" today, yay!  We've been wanting one big enough for all of us siblings to enjoy.  We enjoyed it together for all of 2 seconds before the lounge session degraded into an intense play session, followed by an intense nap session.  All in the span of 3 minutes!

Missed you guys....

Hello all!  Apologies for not posting sooner!  It has been a crazy last couple weeks.  My grandmother has been in town and she is a PARTY ANIMAL!  I can't keep up with her--party all day, party all night!  And we had a family wedding a couple weeks ago that kept everyone's attention off of me, regrettably!  Hmmph!  And the major heat wave we've had here in LA has made me capital L La-zy!  And is it me or is this major earthquake weather?  My spidey sense has been acting up with the hot, cold, hot hot hot!  I'm crossing my paws that the Big One doesn't happen!


So okay, we've got a lot of catching up to do....

Greetings all!  Sorry I've been lagging with my posts!  I've been busy trying to squeeze the most fun out of the last days of summer, and especially trying to work in all my summer outfits, lol.  Check out my favorite summer dress:

Sassy Seersucker

Black Mamba and I donned our seersucker summer dresses and did some frolickin' in the yard. Then we took a relaxing nappy-poo together and enjoyed some rare sister bonding time. See?  We can get along!

I know it's corny to be so matchy-matchy, but look how cute we look!

FORBIDDEN FOODS, a PSA

OMG MY FELLOW PEEPS!  DID YOU KNOW WE CAN'T EAT:

1. Grapes and Raisins: Grapes and raisins can cause kidney failure in us dogs!
2. Onions: Onions destroy red blood cells and can cause anemia. 
3. Chocolate, Caffeine & Tea: These can cause seizures, coma and death. But if your dogs just can't resist eating chocolate & "accidentally" eat some of your s'more bits, see if you used Baker’s chocolate because it's the most dangerous of its kind. And did you know we can consume milk chocolate and appear to be fine, but it is still dangerous?!
4. Macadamia Nuts & Walnuts and most other nuts: *Sugar/Salt Free Organic Peanut Butter is the only exception* YUM!
5. Animal fat and fried foods: Oh no! This causes pancreatitis, which is deadly!
6. COOKED Bones: Cooked bones can splinter, poke holes in our intestines and damage our internal organs and kill us! Especially Chicken Bones!  *We can eat RAW bones, but I need to be supervised when I'm gnawing on them.  And I never get to eat chicken bones, cooked or raw, because they're too risky.*
7. Tomatoes: Tomatoes can cause tremors and heart arrhythmias.
8. Avocados: The fruit, pit and plant are all toxic. They can cause difficulty breathing and fluid accumulation in our chest, abdomen & heart.                     
9. Nutmeg: Nutmeg can cause tremors, seizures and DEATH. 
10. Fruits with PITS:  Pits of various fruits can be lodged in the intestines & kill us within 24 hours & we won't even know it!
11. Raw eggs: Raw eggs can cause salmonella poisoning in us. *COOKED organic eggs are best.*
12. Salt: Salt can cause kidney and blood pressure problems.
13. Mushrooms: Can be deadly- tell your Mommy not to let you chew on mushrooms found in the backyard. *shiitake, maitake and reishi are the only exceptions, though.*
14. Sugar and Corn Syrups. EVEN ORGANIC IS BAD! (this does not include Honey or Molasses though they should only be in small amounts and never for dogs with cancer)

Other stuff that's bad for us:

Bread--Wheat and most refined grains and flours are bad for us.

Corn--I'm allergic to this!  Lots of dogs usually are.

Good grains are Barley, Brown Rice and they say White Rice is good when I have a tummyache.
